Judge blocks $1B Cantor Fitzgerald claim against American Airlines for Sept. 11, 2001 attack

Judge Alvin Hellerstein said the financial firm should not have dramatically increased its estimated damages from $100 million just before mediation more than a year ago.  More than 650 Cantor Fitzgerald employees died on the 101st-105th floors of the North Tower when terrorists flew two planes into the World Trade Center.
